Honoured to be one of the 100 artists to paint a sculpture (named Uoo Uoo) for a spectacular public art trail across Melbourne and Geelong for 10 weeks, as part of The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH)’s 150th-anniversary campaign in 2020. When the art trail concludes, the 100 sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for the hospital.
This Uoo Uoo “Summer Dreamers” is a tribute to my favourite Australian wildlife and native plants which were heavily affected during the bushfire earlier in 2020. It was inspired by my hiking and camping memories in summer times, and I hope this piece will bring joy to all viewers, as a conversation starter and to inspire people to appreciate and protect our environment.
